Late Harvest Dessert Wine
Grape variety Chenin Blanc
Tears of gold. Blend of mauzac & late harvest chenin blanc. Fermented in seasoned oak barrels for over 2 years then aged in bottle. Light golden amber brown in colour with gorgeous nose of honied festive fruits. Sweet but not cloying nor syrupy due to high acidity. Opulent, smooth, full bodied mouthfeel with a lovely long persistent finish. Flavours of honey, prune, fermenting apples, raisin & hints of Christmas spices. Great aperitif but will match with hard cheese and some desserts. Beautiful.
Quite delicious. As good as the best Bonnezeaux or Coteaux du Layon… Try detecting the difference in a blind tasting.
